Cooperation for JICA program "Maritime Law Enforcement" (Overview) --- Strengthening the Maritime Capabilities of Sea Lane Coastal Nations ---

Under the framework of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the "Maritime Law Enforcement Course", a JICA Knowledge Co-Creation Program, was conducted in collaboration with JICA Yokohama, targeting agencies, aimed to strengthen the participating countries' capacity to combat maritime crime.
To acquire essential knowledge and skills necessary for effective maritime law enforcement, the participants took the specialized lectures and practical training sessions as well as visited Japan Coast Guard-related facilities and patrol vessels.
After returning to their respective countries, the participants are expected to apply the knowledge and skills gained during the training to their
Mobile Cooperation Team
organization, contributing to their policy development, capacity building, and operational improvement in their maritime safety agency.
Japan Coast Guard will contribute to the maintenance of a rule-based international order, the peace and safety of the seas while enhancing collaboration with those overseas agencies through continuing support for capacity building of maritime law enforcement.
