Capacity Building Support for the Indonesian Coast Guard Agency (BAKAMLA) (Overview)

The MCT provided capacity-building support to BAKAMLA personnel for matters necessary for maritime law enforcement activities through the JICA framework.
This deployment included lectures on criminal investigation procedures and on-site inspections, as well as simulated exercises based on actual crime scenes.
Furthermore, with the participation of the Australian Border Force (ABF) and the Australian Federal Police (AFP), it became Japan, Australia and Indonesia collaboration opportunities to share information on transnational crime cases and confirm investigative procedures.
The Japan Coast Guard will continue to strengthen cooperation and collaboration with maritime security agencies of various countries to realize a Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP), while also promoting capacity-building support for Indo-Pacific coastal nations.
