Cooperation for JICA program "Maritime Search and Rescue, Maritime Disaster Prevention and Marine Environment Protection" (Result Overview) --- Strengthening the Maritime Capabilities of Sea Lane Coastal Nations ---

The Japan Coast Guard, under the framework of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), implemented the JICA Knowledge Co-Creation Program, "Maritime Search and Rescue, Maritime Disaster Prevention and Marine Environment Protection Course," in collaboration with JICA Yokohama. This course was provided for personnel of overseas coast guard agencies and aimed to strengthen the maritime safety capabilities of the participating countries including search and rescue, environment protection, and disaster prevention. To provide the participants with essential knowledge and skills necessary for responding to maritime accidents and natural disasters, including maritime rescue operations, as well as for maritime environmental conservation, specialized lecture and practical exercises were conducted. Additionally, visits were made to Japan Coast Guard-related facilities and patrol vessels.
