Participation in the 21st Heads of Asian Coast Guard Agencies Meeting (HACGAM)
The 21st Heads of Asian Coast Guard Agencies Meeting (HACGAM) was held in Sydney, Australia. Commandant SEGUCHI Yoshio attended on behalf of the Japan Coast Guard. The meeting took place from October 13rd (Mon) to 16th (Thu).
At the meeting, the participants shared information on their effort and good practices and discussed the new initiative of HACGAM Vision 2030 proposed by Australian Border Force and the Secretariat of the HACGAM (Japan Coast Guard).

3. Overview
- HACGAM members exchanged opinions in five working groups, "Search and Rescue", "Environmental Protection", "Preventing and Controlling Unlawful Act at sea"," Capacity Building" and "Information Sharing/ Joint Exercise", and agreed to continue enhancing cooperation in various fields.
- Joint Statement agreeing on the new initiative of HACGAM Vision 2030 proposed by Australian Border Force and the Secretariat of HACGAM (Japan Coast Guard) was adopted.
- China was elected as host country in 2026.
