Heads of Coast Guards from seven oceans and five continents will gather in Italy ~Participation in the 4th Coast Guard Global Summit~
The 4th Coast Guard Global Summit, bringing together representatives from Coast Guards and maritime agencies of the world, is scheduled to be held in Rome, Italy from September 10th to 12th. Admiral SEGUCHI Yoshio, Commandant of the Japan Coast Guard, will attend and serve as co-chair with the Commandant of the Italian Coast Guard.
Under the main theme of "Leveraging Coast Guard Functions to enhance Maritime Domain Awareness", the summit will see presentations and discussions from each country and organization on pioneer activities related to each topic, as well as global human resource development for coast guards.
1.Overview
The summit was launched in 2017 at the proposal of the Japan Coast Guard and the Nippon Foundation as a forum for dialogue and cooperation where the heads of the world's coast guard agencies and other organizations gather to address various issues surrounding the oceans that are becoming increasingly globalized due to global environmental changes, transcending regional frameworks.
From the first to third summits were held in Japan, and this fourth summit will be held in Rome, Italy.
