Japan and Italian Coast Guards: A Joint Perspective on Strengthening Global Cooperation ~Towards the 4th Coast Guard Global Summit in Rome~

 The 4th Coast Guard Global Summit, bringing together representatives from Coast Guards and maritime agencies of the world, is scheduled to be held in Rome, Italy from September 11th to 12th.
 Prior to the summit, on August 8th, "Japan-Italian Coast Guard Joint Seminar" will be held at the Italy Pavilion of the Osaka Expo presented by the Commandant of the Japan Coast Guard and the Deputy Commandant of the Italian Coast Guard who will be visiting Japan.

1 Overview

 The Coast Guard Global Summit (CGGS) was first held in Tokyo in 2017 as a "new platform of dialogue and cooperation" to discuss and disseminate methods of cooperation and collaboration among Coast Guards and maritime agencies of the world, beyond bilateral and regional frameworks. Since then, it has been held three times in Tokyo hosted by Japan.
 This year, the 4th CGGS will be hosted by the Italian Coast Guard, and it will be very first time to be held outside of Japan. At this memorable occasion between the Japan and the Italian Coast Guard which both relationship is getting deeper ever, we will hold "Japan-Italian Coast Guard Joint Seminar" with the aim to widely disseminate the importance of the CGGS and to foster momentum for it.
