Exchange event with the Canadian Coast Guard on the occasion of their icebreaker's "First arrival" in Hakodate ~ Towards realization for "Free and Open Indo-Pacific"~
"First arrival" in Hakodate of the icebreaker "Sir Wilfrid Laurier" belonging to the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) on July 9, the captain of CCG vessel paid a courtesy call to the Chief of the Hakodate Coast Guard Office. Then, the Japan Coast Guard (JCG) and CCG conducted a mutual ship visits between the patrol vessel Tsugaru belonging to the Hakodate Coast Guard Office and the icebreaker "Sir Wilfrid Laurier". Through the exchange events and various other initiatives, we have strengthened our partnership and cooperation with the CCG.

3 Results Summary
- The JCG was cooperated with the CCG and other Canadian organizations in various ways in the deployment of "Sir Wilfrid Laurier" to the North Pacific.
- During the CCG "Sir Wilfrid Laurier" in Hakodate port, several exchange events were held, such as a courtesy call to the Chief of the Hakodate Coast Guard Office by the captain of CCG vessel, a mutual visit between "Tsugaru" (a ship tour and exchange of opinions) and the CCG icebreaker "Sir Wilfrid Laurier", a demonstration of maritime rescue exercises by "Tsugaru". Through those exchanges, we were able to share knowledge and built trust, and strengthening cooperation and collaboration with each other.
- The JCG will continue to promote cooperation and collaboration with coast guard agencies of other countries and other organizations to realize a "Free and Open Indo-Pacific".
