The MCT has been supporting the coast guard agency (Maritime Wing) in the FSM to enhance their maritime security capabilities since last fiscal year, with the support of the Nippon Foundation and the Sasakawa Peace Foundation.
During this dispatch, the MCT conducted rescue technique training, including rope work and patient transfer training in Chuuk state, which marked the first dispatch to this location. Additionally, the
MCT provided training on rescuing rifting persons at sea using maritime rescue equipment (Fiber Light Cradle) adopted by the Japan Coast Guard, contributing to the enhancement of the FSM coast guard
agency's maritime rescue capabilities.
