Japan, the United States, and the Philippines Conduct Maritime Exchange Program ー Initiatives based on the Joint Vision Statement from the Leaders of Japan, the United States and the Philippines ー

From July 22, 2024 to August 3, 2024, officials from the Japan Coast Guard(JCG) and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) embarked the United States Coast Guard (USCG) patrol vessel and conducted various exchange programs. This program was based on the Joint Vision Statement from the Leaders of Japan, the United Statesand and the Philippines in April 2024, and has led to the deepening of cooperative relations among coast guards of the three countries toward the realization of the free and open Indo-Pacific.

5 Summary
(1)JCG and PCG officials boarded the USCG Patrol vessel "WAESCHE".They participated and observed various operations
   and training conducted by the vessel from Guam to Honolulu from July 22 to August 3.
(2)Mutual understanding and confidence-building among the three organizations were promoted through various
   exchanges during the voyage.
(3)In addition, a disembarking ceremony for JCG and PCG officials was held in conjunction with the vessel's arrival at
   the "Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam" in Honolulu
(4)JCG will continue to strengthen its partnership and cooperation with other coast guard officials to realize
   the "Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP)" based on the rule of law.
