Training for coast guard officers from Five Southeast Asian countries. - Onboard training on the training ship Kojima & training in Japan were conducted -

The Japan Coast Guard (JCG) conducted onboard training etc. for 6 coast guard agency officers from Southeast Asian countries on the training ship Kojima, which was undergoing training for oceanic voyage from Singapore to Japan in cooperation with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) .

3 Summary of results
The 6 officers selected from the coast guard agencies in Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Singapore boarded the training ship Kojima in Singapore and shared a life with special training course trainees of Japan Coast Guard Academy, and improved their ship operation skills through navigation duty and training, as well as deepening exchanges with future officers of Japan Coast Guard.
After port call in Japan (Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture), the JCG operations were explained and a tour of relevant facilities was conducted.
The JCG will continue strengthening its collaboration and cooperation with other coast guard agencies to realize a "Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP)" based on the rule of law. Additionally, the JCG will also actively engage in providing technical assistance to coast guard agencies in the Indo-Pacific region.
