JCG dispatched Mobile Cooperation Team to BAKAMLA

The Japan Coast Guard (JCG) dispatched three members of its Mobile Cooperation Team (MCT), a special team that provides foreign coast guard agencies with capacity-building on maritime safety and security, to the Indonesia Coast Guard (BAKAMLA) from February 19 to 25 in 2024. This dispatch was conducted under the framework of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

MCT provided lectures on arresting techniques and boat operation program in order to improve maritime law enforcement capabilities.

35 participants from BAKAMLA attended the lectures and training programs, they took our program seriously, actively asking many question. Furthermore They conducted practical training repeatedly by themselves. The JCG will continue to s

upport foreign maritime law enforcement agencies, including BAKAMLA.


Since 2020, the JCG has supported BAKAMLA based on the Memorandum of Cooperation on Maritime Security and Safety between the JCG and BAKAMLA signed in 2019. This MCT dispatch is the part of the Cooperation Program in 2024, which was agreed at the annual meeting between the JCG, JICA, and BAKAMLA in 2023.
